Welcome, friend!

You can call me Rox — that’s what my friends call me.

At an early age, I realized that our words impact other people. I often found myself in unexpected conversations with strangers, listening with great interest as vulnerable, emotional stories unfolded.

I discovered a common thread: We find comfort in feeling heard and in knowing that we are understood and valued. I learned that words have incredible power to lift a drooping spirit, calm an anxious heart or inspire people to action.

Words have the power to hurt or help, to revive or revile.

In college I studied marketing and communications, and for over two decades, I have primarily worked in corporate communications. I’ve been writing for companies my whole adult life, and finally found the courage to write a blog and share stories that sprouted from some of the most painful and devastating experiences, but also from some of the brightest and most joyful moments.

Our stories may not be the same, but we share the same human emotions, and it’s on this common, sacred ground that I invite you to join me on this journey.

It’s my hope that, through these stories, you will see that even though life can feel like a roller coaster ride filled with terrifying climbs and plunges that leave you feeling exhausted and breathless, life can also feel like a beautiful dance, divinely directed by God.

2 Corinthians 1:4 | He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person, just as God was there for us. (MSG)

Roxane and her family

When I’m not writing, my favorite thing in the whole world is spending time with my family – we love to travel and create memories, although my favorite place is home in Madeira Beach, Florida!
